Closer to Truth
Rank 3 Thaumaturgy, based on Spiritual Thaumaturgy.
This ritual brings a caster closer to the mystical potential of the awakened mortals called “mages.” By using a specially prepared mixture of sacred hallucinogenic herbs, a “non clan” caster reduces the difficulty of sorcery rolls by one to match that of “native” casters.
System: The caster mixes a brew of peyote and other plants while reciting a chant that invokes the spirit of the herbs. After fifteen minutes, he must drink the brew (a Vampiric drinker must spend a willpower or roll willpower difficulty 7, followed by a Stamina roll difficulty 6, unless he or she possesses the eat food merit). The brew acts quickly, then causes the imbiber to vomit less than a minute later (loosing blood points equal to the successes). It lasts for one day per success. This ritual has no effect on a Tremere, or other “native caster” who normally casts at 3+ level.
