Alric D'Fleur
- Paris -P- Tremere -P- Tremere History in Paris
Sobriquet:
Appearance: Alric's physical appearance can be awing: He was a warrior in his life, and still, even with his 45 years (appearent) his behaviour reflects his agility and deadliness with a sword or in leading an army.
He is a raven-haired, black-eyed very tall man, with a powerful frame that his largely dismissed because of his tall appearance. He wears always the most expensive clothes, but in a very Tzimisce fashion, he likes the jet-black, stark-white and blood-red colors, so his clothes would be an hint about his un-life for any hunter wannabe who saw his share of Hammer Vampyr movies. Anyway, his black and red cloak and his black hair combed like a Christopher Lee's Dracula makes him appear like the real movie-monster...
And the slight animal features (probably from his familiarity with the Protean Discipline) only helps...
Behavior: Cold. He is a General, a Warlord serving the Greatest Clan of the Kindred. And most vampires are not even worthy of the consideration he seems to have about them.
His Beast is really awaken but it only helps making him a real powerful enemy, because of his limited thaumaturgical talent, of course, but also because of his physical prowess.
History: Alric was one of the last sons of a Transylvanian noble under the power of the dreaded Tzimisce. Having seen firsthand the actions of the Tzimisce over what he thought to be his people (his property?), he acclaimed the apparition of the Tremere. The pact was signed: He would betray his family and his Tzimisce master, and as a reward, he would join the Clan Tremere.
He had no real magical talent, but in those times, the Tremere could not refuse his bargain. Blood Bonded to the Clan, he gave all the necessary information for the invasion of the castle.
Unfortunately, everything went wrong, his Tzimisce master being prepared for such invasion. Alric then entered Frenzy and, even with his limited power as a ghoul, succeeded in beheading the Tzimisce with his sword.
Even if the Tzimisce was not killed by this masterful strike (!!!), he was sufficiently surprised to be soon overwhelmed by the legions of Gargoyles and Ghouls, backed up by the Magic of the Tremere. The monster was destroyed.
Because of his heroic action, he was introduced in the Clan with honor. Even if he couldn't help to the evolution of the Thaumaturgy Discipline, he helped his Clan by his war talent. He became one of the Tremere Warlords in their war against the Gangrel, Nosferatu and Tzimisce. In this was, he could drink the Vitae of an Elder Gangrel and reach the 7th Generation.
He made profit of the Anarch Wars to decimate the Kindred population in the region he was protecting by his Clan orders. Then, after the signature of the Convention of Thorn, he joined a young Tremere whose thaumaturgical knowledge was outstanding, but whose personal power was still weak. He despised her for being that. If Laureen knew about his feelings, she never said.
He arrived in Paris in 1918, after the War of Traditions. His hope was to become Regent of a Chantry, having at that time reached the 7th Circle of Apprenticeship. His hope was short lived: A Tremere named Abelard was Regent of Saint Louis and Pontifex of France, as well as Duc of the Tremere. In the second Chantry he met once more with Laureen, bearing the titles of Regent of Nonisis and Lady of Paris. There was nothing for him.
He had been once more robbed from his rightful position by two weaklings. Still, he decided to wait until someone made the error that would remove him/her from his/her position. But now, the Blood Bond's effect is disappearing slowly, and with it his undying loyalty toward the Clan...
Notes: Strangely (probably because of some Tzimisce Vitae cursing his family's blood since generations), Alric has the Tzimisce Weakness (See Vampire: The Dark Ages, the Player Guide to the Sabbat or the Clanbook: Tzimisce).
He developed ties with some Technocratic Magi from a biochemical consortium.
He would like nothing more than destroying Yorgues of Clan Toreador, because of a story about a trinket which happened to be a Wraith Fetter...
