History
Varinia Libidine began life as a virtuous daughter of a aristocratic Roman family. When she entered adolescence she was given to the temple of Vesta to serve as one of that goddesses' virgin priestess for life.
The position of Vestal Virgin conveyed great prestige both upon the individual and the family from which she sprang and in Roman society offered a woman a position of great authority in an otherwise male dominated society.
Regrettably Varinia's youthful libido was more powerful that her vows of chastity and she succumb to desire. For years she managed to keep her infidelities a secret, but once exposed Varinia was expelled not only from her order but from her family for the shame she brought to both. For her most natural of instincts Varinia found herself cast-out to the streets as a common whore, but there was nothing common about her and in a relatively short time she became a infamous and wealthy courtesan.
