Paris -P- About the Daughters in Paris

Sobriquet: Constance

Appearance: Constance is a young woman of 25 years. Her brown hair turned black with undeath, and is normally combed in a post-napoleonic style. Her black eyes, through, has the stare of someone who appear old beyond her apparent age: She lost her innocence more than a century ago, and every one is, potentially, her enemy. she can be very contemptuous, and in the same time, very seducing. But she is naturally cold.

Behavior: Constance became like an old, bitter matron who overprotects Serena. She won't like to see any mortal (or Kindred) to be too much interested in her Childe. But her bitterness goes beyond the simple over-care giving: Constance is jealous of knowing Serena's voice has even potential than her own. With her violent tendencies, it can one day end very bad...

She is angry at Chris because of Serena. This one realized how much Constance tried to control his life, and how, by Dominate and Blood-Bonding, how much she controls Serena's. Chris freed himself from her influence, and for that, she hates him.

History: Constance was a growing star of the Opera of a post-Napoleonic Paris. Courted and loved by her admirers whose number was growing, she was discovered by Sarah, a Daughter of Cacophony. Constance was still young (25 years), but her voice could range from the sweetest whisper to the most powerful known by then. And she was terribly beautiful. Because of her voice and because she had been remarked, too, by a Toreador, Henri, whom Sarah hated, the Daughter of Cacophony asked François Villon the right to Embrace her.

Villon refused because the rival, Henri, fearing to lose Constance, made the same demand in the following seconds. Sarah, defeated, entered a deep depression, and stopped singing. It saddened the artist heart of Villon, but his reason told him to be wary of this new Bloodline, and made him choose another Toreador Neonate instead of a new Daughter of Cacophony.

Sarah decided to move to Italy to forget her sadness. The rival was so happy it could have been disgusting. His seduction could now begin without having to fear Sarah's meddling...

... But Sarah was a great actress, and she kidnapped Constance while everyone felt sorry for her! Constance accepted the Gift of Immortality, and they fled to Italy before beginning the Embrace, under an Italian Prince's jurisdiction, in 1818.

Villon was powerless: No proof of Embrace in Paris, or even in France. Officially, he was furious. In secret, he congratulated Sarah for her move, and himself for not having Sarah as an enemy. the rival didn't like it at all, and intrigued the death of Sarah, and of Constance, who had returned 20 years after...

In 1871, in the Commune Revolution, he attacked them. Sarah thought she could defend herself alone and sent Constance to the Louvre. But when she was attacked by the Brujah Henri had hired as muscle (he promised them he would help them flee Paris), In the last moment, just as Henri drove the stake in Sarah's breast, Constance and Villon heard her last words, her last accusation.

They never found her: At the sunrise, Constance felt deep in her soul the silent but terrible agony of Sarah as she burnt, paralyzed, but still conscious!

Obeying Villon's summon, Henri came back some days after, only to be confronted to Constance, in front of all the Cour. In Frenzy, she cried and screamed her horror and hate to her enemy, and in front of the surprised eyes (and ears!) of the Parisian Kindred, Henri actually exploded as if a wall of stone had crushed him (It was the first time the Parisian Kindred saw this power: The Daughters of Cacophony Bloodline only appeared in the 1700')!

Villon, claiming Henri had betrayed the Clan Toreador by using the Commune chaos to kill his enemies, breaching the Sixth Tradition, and by using Brujah muscle knowing they would be punished for the burning of the Tuileries, decided it was over, and Constance was free to go. She went to London, where she mourned her lost Sire.

She came back in Paris, with the benediction of Villon (she taught him the Melpominee Discipline) and she discovered there Chris, a young, talented and very sexy singer, and Serena, a sweet young woman with a particular voice: While she was stammerer, she could sing without any problem. It was, in fact, her only way to convey her emotion without appearing ridiculous. Seduced, Constance asked Villon the right to Embrace Serena, and to keep Chris as her Ghoul.

Then Constance started to pool all her resources to construct the Nightclub of her dreams, a very special nightclub, who would be the right answer to the new public made of Blood-Dolls and other morbid youth.

Les Ruines opened in 1990, and the building was forbidden to any Kindred but the Brood of Constance. The Masques used this time to track down the hunters who would try to find vampires in the middle of pale make-up teens and kinky mature men and women. Those hunters disappeared, in accident, heart attacks, etc. far from Paris. The club could open...

In 1994, the Club was open to Kindred, and was soon declared Elysium by Villon, who liked the church-like style. Constance, for her work and the influence she had gathered, was invited to join the Grand Cour, and became the Duchesse of the Daughters of Cacophony. In the same time, she allied herself with Maxime to find the greatest singers of France, as well as promote the others in the nightclub.

And all, mortals and Kindred alike could hear the beautiful voices of Serena and Constance, who sometimes appeared on the stage, among other, mortal famous singers... Like the not-so-mortal Milady.
