Borgata: Originally the Italian term for the suburban townships and villages around Palermo that were the cradle of the mafia. Adopted by the American mafia to mean Family (Urban Dictionary.com).
Oath of Omerta: The pledge allegiance to the family and agreeing to a code of honor that includes a vow of silence if arrested.
