The Blush of Life is an ability used by vampires in both Vampire: The Requiem and Vampire: The Masquerade. Normally, a vampire looks the part of a corpse. They're pale and register no pulse. They exist at slightly below room temperature. Food and drink taste terrible, and immediately cause violent, bloody vomiting. They also cannot function sexually, or convincingly fake enjoying sex. However, by rousing a bit of the Blood, they can fake life temporarily, and in different cases engage in activities they once enjoyed as mortals.

20th Anniversary Edition

A Kindred on the Path of Humanity can affect the Blush of Life at a cost of 8 blood points minus current amount of Humanity. Kindred on a Path of Enlightenment may not use the Blush at all.

Vampire: The Dark Ages 20th Anniversary Edition

For one blood point per Road dot under 8, a Cainite can summon the Blush of Life. Some from wicked Roads may not be able to practice this.
