The Carlton
Description: Inextricably bound to the Tory (later Conservative) party, the Carlton Club came into being in 1832, five years before Victoria became queen. The Duke of Wellington was a founding member, encouraging Tory MPs to pay the club's membership fees. Here too, several Kindred are members, including Anne Bowesley who uses her Disciplines to circumvent some of the Club's more chauvinistic requirements.
