3/12/13 - Dreaming with assmites
Yep, back to the dream world of Kateb zek. This time I finally get to meet the people with whom we are trapped. Bruce calls himself Bors, and there are other. I call my self Katara. If for no better reason than it is there, and I am unsure of who I am dealing with. We decide to go someplace and have a pow wow. Bors suggests that I reveal my knowledge, in hoes of leading them to where I want them. I don't think this is a bad idea, and I would like to know a bit about who and what they are. As we discuss whee we should do this, Bors shows some of his previous impatience by 'Creating' an inn, like olden D&D. The world rejects its placement, and it flys away to the far reaches of the city. Still he thinks we should talk there. I do not think it is wise to talk in a creation, but I am overruled by most. Once there we discuss what we are to do. My vote is stay put, and try not to make waves. Other want to try to storm the palace (which at the moment is gone, invisible, or something else as we cannot see it). I speak a bit about the defenses, and our way of getting out that way is neigh impossible. What I don't say is that the time dilation here is agonizing. My newfound time sense tells me exactly 46 minutes have passed sense sundown, yet it feels like around 6-10 hours sense I found myself here. Sad thing is, it isn't a constant rate. There are times when it jumps, and times when it doesn't move at all. The conversation is the not moving at all. Nothing is really removed when we all receive a feeling of unease, as if we are being watched. Everyone suddenly prepares for battle. I ready myself, but I am unsure if melee is the way to go. We are beset by many groups of enemies. W know that they are all controlled by a single person, and each work within their group well, but with each other poorly. It's at this time we see who is more capable. Habib, obviously a warrior settite, takes to the battle like a fish in water. The two tremere, and two Giovanni, not so much. Bors is used to weird th inks, and seems fairly adaptable, and here that makes him powerful. I fact he is the first to kill a “little guy” and get rid of a group. I overestimate my abilities my first try, and can only get rid of one opponent, as I try and turn them all to butterflies (pigs being dangerous in their own right). After a volley of javelins, and arrows, I try a different tactic, and try to attack the source of the men. I summon a lava pit underneath him. Alas they are adapt at dreaming as well, and though he couldn't stop it from forming, he was able to make himself an island in the center. It's at this point that one of the tremere gets the idea to raise herself above the battle. The idea isn't that good, she realizes, when equals are summoned to her obvious form, and she is ripped to shreds. Down one our side. Our response is quite lethal. One of our group tries another lighting bolt. This one being more successful, and it scorches the lava moat guy. I want something a bit more permanent, and I summon a hydra. The many heads prove to be scarier than anything else, and I cause people to flee. It's at this moment that Habib feels we too should flee. W grab our wounded and go. After a running retreat, I find that while I can heal one at a time, none of it is permanent. Habib creates an elegant carriage to haul us out unto the dessert. We find a cave, and I try to use the skills I learned as a priestess to heal the sick. This fails, again as there is no sacrifice. My hydra is still around even though I have stopped concentrating on him, I use this as a sacrifice to heal the two Giovanni. It works, but not to the success I want. One does wake up, but she is still crippled. After food, and more discussion we are trying to decide what to do, when we hear a wind whistling down the cave. Much flurry of movement as we hole up and prepare to be attacked. An air jinn appears and states “I come for my master Bashir al Amr, to request a parlay.” This is unexpected, but was one of the things that was brought up in the discussions. I go to the jinn and request it go away so we can discuss in private, it agrees. With more deliberation it is decided we should go to the parlay as long as we have some assurance that we are not attacked. It is then asked Who shall risk themselves. I offer that the people most likely to survive an assaination attempt should go. That means myself and Habib. We go to the mouth of the cave, and are greeted once again b y the jinn. We announce our response, and immidaiatly the jinks head turns into that of Bashir al Amr. Using my skill at dream, I determine this is a dream jinn, and Bashir is far away, but within line of sight. After asking who we are (I find out Habib is the leader of the Setite temple here in Istanbul, and a consummate bad ass. I know this because we fought in a previous life) I introduce myself as Madam Mina as he may have heard of me, and I do not wish to lie when he asked “not what I called myself.” He stats that he Bashire al Amr al ulshulgi al Hakim, and Jamal Abdul Haq will come to the parlay. Hurray for playing with more luminaries.
The parlay... Yes we talk, they bluster and threaten, blah blah blah. It comes out that if we agree to help Bashir gain control of his childer (yep he's Kateb zek s sire) realm, he will grant us 7nights of time to copy the lore. I request an actual book, as it contains body relics of mine. he vows not to let me loot his library. i state it is mine by rights (which it is) and call in a life boon on zek as reason for me having it. I figure this fair for many reasons, as I did save him at least twice, once saving the therble from being captured, and the other back in time. Frankly he had no right to take my relics, and I want them back... Their mine anyway. Bashir agreed to these terms, we all want to make sure these are mistily sealed so none can betray the other. and we have to go bak to our group to see if they agree. Predictably the tremere pitches a fit, and froths at the mouth. The others take it in stride, but they all feel that they will be betrayed, so must do the betraying first. Sigh. Then we discuss after we betray the assmites, who gets what and how do we divy it up. I engaged in mental conversation with Bors, and we split things 7 ways, and we each get first pick of something. I pick my book, I ask Bruce to pic the urn, others pick their virus things. Habib picks zeks journal.. Which is interesting, I didn't know it was there, and that request worries me the most. Fatima the tremere asks for first pick of the library, most the others say they reserve their pick for when they see it. After this I bolster the mental link I have with Bors, and we have a long discussed about my knowledge and why I want the urn. It comes out that I know what I know because I was Kateb zeks apprenticed. He took relics of mine to make sure I didn't betray him. It also expands my knowledge of the realm. Bors thinks part of the reason I act so much older than he thinks I am is due to the fact I remember all my past lives (sorta true) now he realizes I may have had access to a realm with serious time dilation, so I can study and learn so much more. He also learns a bit about the angles, and appears a bit freaked out by it. Frankly so am I, but I can't drop my life to search for him. He feels that I can sell this info to Bashir. I don't think I can get Bashir to believe it, let alone give me somthing for it. Now we have to see if we can survive being allies with the assimites... At least till they kill us, or we betray them. There are days I hate being undead.
