Ethics of the Nocturnal Shepherd
- Choose a group of mortals to protect and nurture as your flock. The services you do them are in return for the immortality that you enjoy and without them your immortality means nothing.
- Yet we owe it to ourselves and humanity to remain both apart and a part of their world.
- Observe those who prey upon your flock, be it from within or from without, they are your chosen prey.

Hierarchy of Sins against the Nocturnal Shepherd
10 - Refusing to aid another shepherd. (As your only real allies, the other shepherds expect your aid in times of need and must be there for you when you call upon them.)
9 - Showing anything but courtesy to another shepherd. (Showing disrespect to another shepherd, shows disrespect for the ideals that elevate you above the other vampires.)
8 - Failing to teach this philosophy to one willing and in need. (You must reveal the truth to those who are ready, as you were show in your time of need.)
7 - Failing to punish those who have misguided your flock. (Those who have misguided your flock must be punished to discourage them from leading your flock further astray.)
6 - Failing to guide your flock. (At critical moments the flock may stray into self-destructive territory or be led there by other supernaturals. Its your duty to lead them to safety.)
5 - Failing to nurture your flock. (In order for your flock to remain healthy and grow, it requires certain necessities which you are obliged to provide; failure to do so is neglect.)
4 - Failing to participate in the culture of your flock. (Attention to your flock is essential if you are to protect them and understand their needs.)
3 - Failure to punish those who have harmed your flock. (If one attack upon your flock occurs, it may occur again. Punishment is discouragement against future attacks.)
2 - Failing to engage in the nightly hunt for your chosen prey. (We hunt those who would prey upon our flock, feeding is the reward for our efforts.)
1 - Perpetrating harm upon you flock or allowing others to do so. (The flock is your personal responsibility, if you don't protect them, you life has no value or meaning.)
