Lore: Rakshasa ●○○○○
You know that the Rhakshasa are evil beings that are seem to be tiger/man demons. They prefer to dine on human flesh. The truly perceptive might notice that their hands are turned opposite of humanities. They have multiple magic powers that include illusion and mind magic. Whatever other powers they have are unclear to you. A Rhakshasa killed with a holy weapon dies. At this stage you know enough to be afraid. Not as afraid as you should be.
Lore: Rakshasa ●●○○○
You know that Rhakshasa are patrons of utter chaos and disruption. You know that they are outer beings, not native to the prime material, and only come here when summoned by foolish mages or sorcerers. Rhakshasa are beings of darkness and misdirection. Most Rhakshasa work alone, other than those who have begun to spawn, they will keep their children with them for up to a hundred years. A Rhakshasa can be stopped by blessed doors. You are still not as afraid as you should be.
Lore: Rakshasa ●●●○○
You know that the Rhakshasa are powerful allies of the Titans and less human friendly members of the Outer Realms. You know that only a profound human sacrifice will bring them to earth, and that any will worker who keeps one in his or her employ must keep them fed, or they will turn on their master and all around him. You have heard that the Agni have power to weaken the Rhakshasa, and that there is lore about how to kill one. You now know that their natural form changes as they age and gain power, growing multiple heads and arms. Elder Rhakshasa have the ability to move invisibly. You also know that they derive power from eating their victims while alive, and that this is the preferred method of conspicuous consumption.
Lore: Rakshasa ●●●●○
You are aware that the Rhakshasa worship the Bhowanee, and that even the darkest of beings keep them on a tight leash when employed. You are aware that sunlight and fire weakens them, and is suspected to kill them. The Rhakshasa reproduce and the babies grow as fast as they can feed. In a fertile area with much death to feed them, baby Rhakshasa can grow to adult hood in as little as a month. For this reason the Rhakshasa are known to instigate famine and war in order to freely feed from the population without being discovered. After adulthood growth is slow, but Rhakshasa continue to amass power and holdings, becoming a more fearsome being with each passing death. Rhakshasa can be turned aside with complex wards, and holy ground causes them pain and makes their magic weaker. That wet spot shows you are grasping the evil they are known for.
Lore: Rakshasa ●●●●●
The Rhakshasa are harbingers of the Outer Gods coming to acquire titles and power. Beings of darkness and the Greater Nihil teach foolish mortals to summon them so that the Dark Old Ones have powerful pawns on the board. Rhakshasa also feed on their own kind to acquire greater strength, and part of the desire for children is the eventual consumption of those children. Wise children catch on before the elders consume them and find a way to trap their elders. A gravid pair cannot change into the other sex until the children are born. Brass is a powerful weapon against the Rhakshasa, as it fire and holy magic. A Rhakshasa not consumed by its own kind or killed with a brass weapon and burned in a Peepal wood fire will eventually return as a child and have to begin the climb upward again. The Rhakshasa loses it's body, but keeps it's mental powers. Any other death allows the Rhakshasa to come back in it's original body in about a week.
