SACRIFICE
Introduction
The Dominion of Sacrifice governs the ability of Avatars to enhance a pool of Divinity, their own or that of another. Sacrifice can be made in another's name, and such sacrifices are how the children of man show their love or fear for their deity. Sacrifice is not an innate talent, rather it is a skill learned from another. Some mortals so entranced by the deeds or splendor of their chosen god are able to utilize sacrifice in a crude and unpredictable manner. Over countless years or centuries these practices can be amalgamated and then taught to the next generation of the faithful. In the case of Avatars, self-sacrifice is indeed possible as the immortal does intentional and irrevocable harm to his or her own form. The legendary nature of self-sacrifice is how many of the leaders of the current pantheons ascended to hegemony. But such sacrifices to the all-powerful forces of fate can set the Avatar on a specific path from which there is no escape.
Innate Powers
Sense of Bondage: There are bonds of destiny that link all things in the universe. Some things are bound together more tightly than others. Some bonds are almost indiscernible like those that bind the tiniest particles of matter together, while those that bind our world to the Sun and Moon are so vast that they shadow all other bonds. The Avatar can automatically sense the presence of bonds between people, places and item to other items, places or people. The Avatar can also rate the strength of the bond from nearly non-existent (1) to world-binding (10+). The Avatar can also tell the nature of the bond, whether it is a bond of love, fear, life, death, etc. This is not so much a snapshot of impression, as it is a continuous sense that resembles, but exceeds the five mundane senses. Some Avatars claim to be able to see the bonds between people, or smell the bonds between beast and man, or hear the tell-tale prayers of a devotee for a given god.
Measure Divinity: The Avatar can automatically measure the amount of Divinity within a beast, a man or a god. The permanent and temporary Divinity can be known, but it requires a full scene to measure accurately.
