The World is a Vampire:Current events / June - 2011
Game: Tzimisce Chronicles
Storyteller: Jamie
Synopsis: Baron Milan (Morgan) is in torpor and his brother Benesj (Bruce) borrows the Thurible of the Ifrit from Madame Mina (Kate) to awaken Milan's dreams with Kateb Zeke's sorcery of dreams. Benesj is successful in bringing the Thurible to Gabrovo and awakening Milan in his dreams. Milan and Kateb Zeke spar with dreaming and Milan gets schooled. Milan strikes a deal with Kateb Zeke to learn a level 5 ritual that will allow Milan to dream actively and only use minimal blood to do so (Morgan owes Kateb Zeke a 4pt boon) and Milan spends a year in torpor learning the ritual from Kateb Zeke. This means that Baron Milan will be in torpor until the Spring of 2014.

Boyar Benesj has recently struck a deal with Iskra Krupova, Malkavian Prince of Pzardzhik (with the aid of his elder brother, Count Cezar Sandu) to serve as her sorcerous servant for five years in exchange for the return of Baron Milan's unliving body to Gabrovo. In his first two weeks of service, Benesj inadvertently manages to irritate Iskra's eldest childe Basia into violating the contract when she attacks him and his retainers in reprisal for being dominated into politeness. In self-defense, Benesj creates a necromantic simulacrum of Basia, but hesitates to use it for fear of violating his oath to Iskra. Instead, Benesj flees to the southern city of Blagoevgrad held by the ancient Brujah prince Suregethes and asks for his aid in arbitrating the dispute. In return for a boon (3pts), Prince Suregethes favors Benesj in the dispute by judging Iskra's childe Basia responsible for breaking the contract and thus absolving Benesj of further service to Iskra. Benesj returns to Gabrovo and resumes his duties as Boyar (seneschal) of the city and allowing his elder brother Cezar to return to his own affairs. Iskra and her allies loudly decry Benesj an oath breaker for leaving Pazardzhik, but are silenced when their missives are answered with a transcript of events, a copy of the contract and the official opinion of Prince Suregethes of Blagoevgrad. Benesj has the rest of 2013 to perform his duties and make preparations for the coming Bellum Clepsydra (literally - the war of the hourglass).
Experience: Morgan spends his full time in torpor, he gets two (2) points of experiences for automatic & role-playing and he gets a ritual (level 5). Bruce gets four (4) points of experience, for automatic, role-play, wisdom and success. Bruce spends his four (4) experience on raising his Haggling from two (2) to three (3).
Commentary
Brenda:
Brian: Wow, nice.
Bruce: Yay! I don't have to suffer the company of a coterie of Malkavians for five years!

Jamie: A couple of edits are necessary. Basia of Pzardzhik (formerly Basia Iskranova) is Iskra's younger childe: Her elder brother, Petar, sank into depression soon after the embrace, and has been little more than their sire's moping shadow for the last century plus.

Second, since Kateb Zeke has virtually absolute control of his ephemeral domain, Milan spent, first, the equivalent of years unable to perceive anything, even his own hunger. He then spent years vomiting sorcerous secrets, particularly those related to Benesj's soul transferring magic (yes, Milan can't cast Benesj's rituals, but he has seen them used several times, and is not incapable of understanding some of the principles). No mention was ever made of payment: presumably the price was and will continue to be high). Kateb Zeke caused the entire experience to happen within the year that Milan remained in torpor. Perhaps he had no further desire for Milan's company once his enigmatic purpose was achieved.
