De cognatione Rose libro sermonum dierum (Histories of the Toreador Clan)

The influence of the Toreador was important, always, in France. But the control of Paris and the rest of the country was always divided between the Clans of the Ventrue and the Toreador. While the Ventrue have their Grand Court, the Toreador rule from the Courts of Love.

The settlement of Lutetia was first haunted by the Toreador Elder Cyril Cloutier, Childe of Salianne, eventually seeing it become Paris. He lived and ruled the surrounding area, working with the the Romans to bring culture and civilization to the Celtic Parisii. Cyril ruled until in 845 the Vikings sacked the city and Cyril met final death in the fire destroying his haven.

At that time Alexander became the Prince of Paris, helping to unite the clans of the city and defeat the invaders. For a time he ruled Paris alone, stymied at every turn by the Toreador and their machinations. The Courts of Love sent envoys to Alexander, making diplomatic requests for cooperation between himself and the Courts of Love. He agreed, being given a "bride" of Lorraine. As his consort the Toreador once again worked for the improvement of the city. Success came and the two have ruled in an uneasy alliance ever since.

Lorraine has sired a brood to match the Prince, and now the two factions vie for control of the city, while ostensibly working together. The coming of more Toreador to the city has brought with it a more active rumbling trouble.

Filii Helenam

The progeny of Helena, Filii Helenam, have been banished from Rome for life as a result of the crimes of one of their number, Mercuzio Tiberus. This fledgling Toreador dared along with his coterie of allies to invade the Vatican Necropolis for the purposes of plunder to steal a relic like no other. Captured by the White Monks, he was imprisoned in Carceri Piranesi, the dreaded wizard's gaol. His sentence is for life, but only months after his arrival, he contrives with several other prisoners and outside forces to escape and now the western church has made his capture and return to the wizard's gaol their goal. The other childer of Helena have made their way to Paris to begin new lives and start over, if that is possible.
