Description: The ‘Akatallelos’ is a curse of confusion, designed to confound necromantic effects like ‘Insight’, the level one path power of the Sepulchre path of Giovanni necromancy. It confounds divinations of this kind by introducing Black Henbane / Stinking Nightshade (Hyoscyamus niger) into the eyes or eye sockets of the corpse subject to divination. When a diviner casts such a ritual or path power on a corpse, he experiences visual and perceptual hallucinations that distort the deceased’s final moments.
Origin: Benesj the Black
Ingredients: Black Henbane / Stinking Nightshade (Hyoscyamus niger) and vampiric vitae (which need not belong to the caster)
Casting: The necromancer chants a bit of nonsense poetry in Greek dedicated to Apate - the spirit of deception, and injects a mixture of Stinking Nightshade and vampiric vitae into the eye or eye socket of the corpse.
System: Intelligence + Rituals = difficulty four (4). The caster’s successes must be overcome by the diviner in order to perceive anything of value. The effects of the ritual are permanent and may only be overcome via a single roll; though the diviner may cast again, as many times as he wishes until he succeeds. This ritual takes five (5) minutes to cast.
Reference: No obvious parallels could be found.
