Jamie's Esoterica

With this ritual, the caster creates a rune that cancels successes of any scrying-based sending, and alerts the caster that the attempt was made. If the rune is drawn on an object, it protects both the object and a person carrying the object from detection. If cast on a Talisman (see Enchant Talisman) it protects the Talisman's owner. More permanent protection can be granted by tattooing the ward to a subject. Even if a clever thaumaturge knows where the protected person or object is, and targets something near, he perceives the subject as murky and indistinct, if at all.

System: The ritual requires six hours to cast (in addition to any time consuming etching or tattooing), minus one half hour per success on the casting roll. For each success, the ward cancels one success from any sending designed to locate or spy on the caster, and soundlessly alerts the caster of the attempt, as well as whether the attempt successfully penetrated the ward. The component is a handful of ground glass that once was part of a mirror. The ritual is permanent until destroyed.
