Hedge Magic

The Path of Burning the Ephemera allows the user to tear spirits apart and use them to power curses and other dark effects. The practitioner harnesses the power that holds spirits together and then twists it to drive effects.

Price of Failure: The user suffers from the mana leakage, hemorrhaging mana into the ephemera powering local spirits. 1 failure hemorrhages 1/4 of the casters mana, 2 failures hemorrhages half, 3 hemorrhages 3/4, 4 failures hemorrhages all. More failures can cause physical damage.

Feel the activity of spirits behind their Gauntlets.

Learn to distinguish between the different kinds of spirit behind the Gauntlet and try to bind them to the location of the caster.

Learn to contact a specific spirit and bind it, then tear it apart for Gnosis.

Learn to perceive ephemera around you and see the spirits beyond the Gauntlet, know the glyphs necessary to lock into those spirits.

Learn to rip spirits apart to harness their power.

Pull the spirit out of a living creature and use the life force to enact curses.
