Back to Level 4

Creates an Box that cast can summon at will from any distance

System: Caster needs to inscribe runes into the object. Runes must be imbued with pure silver (with either thread, or powder, or some other method) Need to get a minimum of 5 successes at 8 on a crafts roll. Once the runes have been inscribed and the ritual has been cast, they “soak” into the item, and are no longer visible. Silver is lost on failure, and you need to redo the crafts roll. Caster needs 2 successes per cubic foot of space. Ritual last until used.

Errata: How is rune created? How is container created? Why/how does the silver "soak" in? How many boxes can you have active at one time? Is it closed at time of casting? Can it be closed and opened without breaking the magic?

Jamie's Proposed update of this ritual, originally created by Madame Mina/Kaitlin Porter

This ritual prepares a wooden container (ornate chest or box) to be summoned to the caster's location at a later date, along with anything that might be inside it at the time of casting.

System: The box must be made of intricately overlapping slats of Yew (for speedy movement), Ironwood (for strength) and Ebony (to hold the magic). It may be as large as the caster desires, but must be a perfect rectangular prism (six sides, with right angles at each of the corners). Once the box is filled with whatever the caster desires, the caster must carve runes in each of the box's panels, engraving the symbols with Silver, Red Cinnabar (Mercury ore) and Iron. When the engraving is complete, the caster must nail the box shut with large iron spikes, ensuring that it remains closed and the magic remains intact.

One success is all that is required to enchant the box. It will remain enchanted until it is recalled by the caster (intent is all that is required), opened, or otherwise damaged in a way that penetrates the wood.

If the caster attempts to summon the box into or out of a region that somehow restricts or alters teleportation magic, compare the number of successes rolled on Precious Box to the number of successes achieved to restrict teleportation. If the Precious Box has at least one more success, the teleportation is successful.
