So....
We get to Quebec City, first thing I notice is that everyone is speaking French, I knew this but damn is it annoying. I will never be sure if it's the pompas Parisian attitude or the sterotype that French is the worlds best language that bothers me most. Oh well.
Sigh
Moving on...Cars have been arranged, and we have enough support staff to drive them. We starting looking for two things, a short term Haven and place for a council of war. We notice quickly that we are being follow from the train station. Yan and I discuss best way to "take care of" the tail and decide best way would be to stop in a public place and have a chat with them. Turned out they were with the local police, we gave them a chance to tell us if they were trying to set up a meeting or something. Yan even gave them a card so if they had masters they could give us a call. Over all a weird interaction that makes me think I or We missed something....
We took rooms and looked into their confronce room just in case. Very good for a gossip laden dinner party, but not for anything secure. We changed cars and continued our search. I commented that we should include the Super 8, and we did. Surprisly they had a reasonabliy good confronce room. Less tech but more hard walls and tight windows. Less chance of being overheard purely due to thick stone and hard to destroy. I hope neither of those thing will come to play but we have to plan for it. I think we should set up some sound blocking equipment if we choose there but we won't need much.
We move on and Yan suggests checking one of the local museums. Great idea, we go to one that claims the be the Museum of Civilation, I expect to see Primitive Africa, then Eygpt, Rome, ETC.... Instead we are back to the fact the fucking French are so full of themselves and it focuses mostly on Quebec. We ask for the manger/curator/director, and hint that we may want to donate a sizeable amount of money to the musuem. Their eye light up, it helped that there was a women behind the desk, she can't help but stare at the pair of us. I remember being a noch above my current apperance and being able to draw the eyes of most of the room, but also having enough ability to hide from 99.9% of the world. The director comes back with the guard and leads us to her office. Turns out that her office is in a very secured area of the musuem. She leads us to her office, we start to get the vibe of occult. In a musuem it could be innocent but in a city that had a Tremere Prince that seems unlikely. Sure enough after some conversation we get a tour that includes the converence area. Turns out she palmed a candle used for rituals. She put together a ritual right under our nose. We noticed but she was still very slick. She used the ritual againest me, with seemed to be some sort of detection ritual. At this point I don't know what information she got, I think she is a free Tremere Ghoul. I decided we did not need to force the information out of her but we did note it down to discuss with our resident Tremere, once we found him.
At this point it was about 2 in the morning and we needed to find somewhere to crash for the night. We heard on the radio that a fire was burning in a lower income part of town. Normally this would not have peaked our interest but the phrase "survived a three jump out of a window" and "possible gun fire" told us that this might be Sabbet related, we headed that way. We arrived to find a rather large residential building on fire. The fire fighters were mostly trying keep the fire to that building and keep from spreading to nearby residences. Yan sneaks in, I ask myself for a second if I miss that.....not really. I start to work the crowd, I start 'convincing' people to what 'really' happened. Works out well. My people keep an eye on what is happening and are prepared for action. I mostly want warning, we know Sabbet are around and this may be a trap. I make sure they know, I really don't want to lose some of them due to negligence.
After working with the crowd and cleaning that up, I move to the bodys. I 'convince' the police that I am an off duty asst coriner. I take a look at all the body, killed by a gargoyle. That is weird, our rogue Tremere here? Some action is happening to Yan, I learn later that he is saving someone. He does not give me any indication that he is in trouble. He does alert me to a gentlemen and friends fleeing the scene. I have some people follow but they lost them.
The real coroner arrives and I 'convince' him that I am a off-duty coworker. He allows me to help and I drive the corpses away. I arrange a stop where Yan and his guest can remove the corpses. I get to the morgue with no bodys which I cover. I let them go on a break and take care of the corpses myself. I then take and make sure the records reflect the bodys coming in and some going out and being cremated, making sure numbers come out right. I put in cremation orders in for 10-15 other masqurade breachs. I add a friendly virus to the computer that will let me in from a remote computer and make sure I have security rights to get in again. I will have to upkeep this idenity and flush it out some if I am going to use it for any length of time.
I leave the morque and start considering where to sleep. I decide on a random high class hotel. This should keep people from having to many things set up and I trust my staff to keep me safe without kindred involved. I do plan on putting together an escape route in case of fire.
