'''Origins:''' | '''Origins:''' When the demigod Morpheus was critically injured by the Ankou of Dubnolissos, he was pulled through the Gate of Polished Ivory and into a dream-realm of his and his brother's making to serve as a distraction from the intense pain of his injuries. During his sojourn Morpheus travels through the dark land of Barovia as one Malcer Tan, a human illusionist, with his demi-human companions. The adventuring party's backstory is that they had just recently investigated an unexplored part of Myth Drannor and were hunted by a scouting party of Zentarim into the nearby mountains as both groups are caught up in a terrible storm. The storm deposits the Fantastic Five near the gates of Barovia and the fearless adventures are soon caught up in the struggles of the Village of Barovia against a zombie plague. As a result of the adventures twists and turns, Morpheus ''donates'' some of his willpower to the phantasms, namely" Baern, Sariel and Anastrianna, giving them free-will. The adventure ends with Morpheus leaving his companions at the Blood on the Vine tavern and his escape from the demiplane through a gateway under Ravenloft Castle. Thereafter, Morpheus sends word to his friends in the Fantastic Five through dreams to flee Barovia. | ||

Origins: When the demigod Morpheus was critically injured by the Ankou of Dubnolissos, he was pulled through the Gate of Polished Ivory and into a dream-realm of his and his brother's making to serve as a distraction from the intense pain of his injuries. During his sojourn Morpheus travels through the dark land of Barovia as one Malcer Tan, a human illusionist, with his demi-human companions.
