Sobriquet: Smith
Appearance:
Behavior: Alfhard is a man of few words. Not so much stoic as thoughtful and observant. He prefers the simplicity of laboring at the forge over most other activities. But he does have a playful side and enjoys the company of his closest companions and the rare lover. Like most northmen the joys of drink and food, not to mention women, are to be savored. He is slow to anger, but once truly angry it takes the spilling of blood to calm him once more. A firm believer in the gods and spirits of the land, he accepts Cercyon's divine nature at face value, without falling face-first into worshiping him.
History: Alfhard is older than he looks and has only been the smith of Sigdag and the Clansmen of Wunnenburg for a few years. Alfhard has traveled much in his long years and has been a husband and father more than once. He speaks little of his past, but doesn't prevaricate so much as offer small snippets from a long life.
Born in the far north, he and his people were driven south by a nebulous threat to their existence. Later he took up the wandering life and has traveled as far south as the Roman Empire, as far west as the land of Erie, to the east he has sailed the Dark Sea and in the north he has seen a land made entirely of ice where multicolored lights burn the night-time sky. He learned the secrets of the smith from his father and has worked the trade for most of his life. He has seen numerous wars, having spilled more than his share of blood and he while he doesn't shy away from combat, he doesn't seek it either.
Recent Events: Alfhard is deeply impressed with Cercyon's skill as a smith and recognizes his divine nature, but he also sees that the man in the god and seeks to share the experience of a long lifetime with a hero who might do much good in a dark and unforgiving world.
