Umbraculavites

Definition: As dragon's are elemental beings with vast lifetimes, bestial appetites and the potential to become a greater intelligence, they need therefore focus. A dragon's cynosure is that which draws the dragon's interest and gives direction and focus to its immense existence. Cynosure has often been misunderstood by mortal men and conflated with a desire to hoard treasure. The reality is that each dragon has a single all consuming passion that it pursues throughout the ages unto death. For some, cynosure is found in music which soothes the savage beast, while for others its is arcane lore or art works or beautiful mortal women or scientific apparatuses. As all dragons are utterly distinct beings even from their own breed, brood or desolation, no two dragon's cynosures will ever be the same. All dragon's protect the nature of their cynosure closely, for it can be used against them and sometimes constitutes a weakness to those who hunt the First Born without understanding why dragonkind have need for such treasures.
