Ok, before I can comment too much on this ritual, one defining question must be answered. What are you 'exactly' trying to achieve with this ritual? Are you trying to learn basic details about the brain's former owner? Are you trying to determine if the brain's former owner is a wraith? Or are you trying to consume the memories of the deceased and if so, why? I want to be clear here. Having played a vampiric necromancer obsessed with memory magic, I have explored this avenue pretty far. This is not to say that there isn't room for further exploration, because there are clearly many unexplored areas yet to be delved. And, while someone else may have paralleled your research, that doesn't mean that you cannot put your personal brand on it and make it distinct.
