The Carmody's came to Covington in 1830.
- Baltasar Jesus Carmody came here with his wife Merial Marascus Carmody (Florida). They already had three children Beverly Catherine (1820), and Leremias Saul (1822), and Malakai Peter (1825). There were two babies who did not survive the first year after arriving. They brought with them a half dozen slaves and built a large house on Columbia Street. They were blessed with three more children: Jerrard Elias (1831), Caroline Dalene (1833), and Antipatros Jase (1835).
The Carmody family established the Covington Bank and Trust.
- Antipatros (known as Jase to everyone) married Genevieve Maidadhin (1840-1878) in the spring of 1857. They had 5 children, 3 that lived: Winona Ciel (1858), Manolo Baltasar (1860), Braeden James (1865).
- Winona married Rafferty Amos Krusen (1855-1907) in 1875. They had 8 kids, 6 of which survived. Archer Thomas (1876), David Jesus (1888), Amos George (1890), Mary Paullette (1891), Catherine Winona, and Merial Dalene in (1992).
- Manolo Baltasar Carmody married Savannah Thankful Garnet (1864-1914) of the Baltimore Garnets (1879). They had 7 children, 4 that lived. Abigail Berthe (
