History

Journee was a Welsh farm girl with few real prospects and the likely future of marrying a man she didn't love, having a multitude of children and growing old early.

Then one autumn afternoon Martin Sampson rode into her life, literally, when he stopped at her father's farm for the night. Martin paid for his room and board and paid especial attention to Journee during his stay. He was very polite and flattering and told her about all the places he had seen and the characters he had met and most importantly what life could be like for a young woman with beauty. She and Martin left in the middle of the night and travelled south all the way to St.Mawes.
