Main Page -x- Level One Rituals -x- Level Two Rituals

Description: When cast over a fresh corpse, this ritual stops decay and putrefaction for one year; after which normal decomposition sets in if this ritual isn't recast.
Origin: This ritual is based on ancient Greek funerary practices.
Ingredients: Honey
Casting: The caster composes a poem in Greek to Demeter to bring a halt to decay and preserve the remains; each composition must be unique in honor of the deceased. Then the caster chants the poem over the cleansed remains of the deceased and paints the body with honey.
System: The caster rolls Intelligence + Rituals = difficulty four (4). The ritual takes five minutes to complete. Once the ritual takes effect, the corpse must be left in a dark place, as sunlight will end the effects of this ritual.
Reference: The obvious parallel is “Preserve Corpse”, a level one thaumaturgic ritual developed by the Naga Raja of the True Black Hand.
