Excellent work Keith, an alternate version of events that illustrates how differently and yet similarly people perceive things. The flow of it smooth, almost sinuous and your antiquated phrasing is a nice bit of medieval culture to add to the ripe stew that is the Pageant. The first person account makes me feel as though I know Eben a bit, but it is our first introduction. An interesting twist, here you break from the original narrative to explore Theodoric's more nebulous stratagems and the people he uses to accomplish those ends.
