Description: Central to the spell of the Light of Hekate's Torch is the goddess herself. In ancient Greek religion and mythology, Hekátē holds influence over crossroads, entrance ways, light, magic, witchcraft, herbs and poisonous plants, ghosts, necromancy and sorcery. She is most often displayed in art bearing a pair of torches or a key, and in later periods she is depicted in full triple-goddess form. This working uses the key element of fire to illuminate magical emanations within a ten foot radius. All such mystical energies, whether residual or active glitter to the eyes of the caster. Not only does each form of magic have a color associate with it, but sometimes the purpose of the effect or ritual can be gleaned from the shimmering patterns revealed by the Light of Hekate's Torch. Despite the name, the spell can be cast with any size of flame, from something as small as a candle up to a burning building and everything between.
