Paris -P- Giovanni

The Clan Giovanni is not welcome in Paris, since 1994, when the Clan decided to retaliate to François Villon's decision not to intervene to protect Madeleine Giovanni (also Known as the Dagger of the Giovanni, see the Trilogy of the Red Death for more information).

Knowing Villon would raise the whole Camarilla against the Clan if Art Chef d'Oeuvres were destroyed, Pietro Giovanni used Madeleine's cousin, Montifloro and Cesare, to destroy Villon's Herd, through the use of an Assamite.

Of course, Villon didn't like it, and soon discovered Pietro's implication. Cesare and Montifloro were hunted down and brought back staked in the Louvre by the Masques while the Veilleurs took the control of the Giovanni main house in Paris and removed any occult information, books and artifacts. The two Giovanni were sent back staked at Venice, with a copy of a phone conversation where Pietro asked his Childe to commit the crime, and a beautifully written letter reminding Pietro of the Fifth Tradition: The Hospitality. Madeleine could not have been protected because she had neglected to Present herself and her Kindred (and non-Kindred) friends to the Prince: So, by the Tradition's wording, they were nothing, and so there was nothing to protect....

Since then, no contact have been made between the Parisian Toreador and Venician Giovanni. No Giovanni asked the right to install in Paris. Some believe Villon would refuse it, as he refused once the Brujah and the Tremere.

Some believe the Giovanni will start soon a Jyhad against the French Toreador, the Parisian and Villon's Brood being the first. Pietro is, perhaps even now, placing his pawns in this aim.

While the Giovanni started a war to take the control of the Mafia, they will stop any aggressive actions, and most of them will be called back to Venice. It is believed by the most important members of the Clan that soon Augustus will call for the next step in the Grand Giovanni Scheme, that is the disintegration of the whole global economy. Note that Giorgio won't answer to the convocation.

Parisian Giovanni

Due to the recent events, any Giovanni coming to Paris would be affected of a "Notoriety" Flaw (-2 Dices malus to all Social Rolls: See The Vampire Player Guide, p 17) in addition to any other Flaw or Merit (even Reputation or Notoriety!). And she would need a real good reason/intrigue to be accepted here for more than a night...

Wraiths & the Louvre

It is very tempting to use Wraiths to spy on the diverse soirées and learn much about the Parisian Kindred. While it is normally resolved by using the normal rules, one must consider that Wraiths are not immune to Obfuscate and that Auspex can help a great deal to feel someone is watching you.

But the real coup would be to spy on the Louvre. The problem is that no wraith came back from this building. Either there is a powerful wraith in it, or Villon's power extends even on the Shadowlands, but anyway, there is someone here valuing his privacy with enough success to have, at first, attracted the Giovanni's interest, and lately to have been easily dismissed for the total lack of success in discovering the nature of the Louvre's protection.

Of course, the different Chantries (including the Veilleur's) in Paris have some kind of protection, impossible to pass in Auspex ***** or for any Wraith.
