History: Twenty-one years ago (in 2010) Ahmal was recruited at a young age into an Al'Quaida linked organization. As he was being prepared to become a martyr, he began to think too much. It bothered him that his mentors cared more about teaching Islam than about living by it. He was beaten more than once for quoting the wrong verses of the Quran. The final straw came when he learned that he was to carry a bomb into a Saudi government building rather than striking at what he saw as the true infidel. As soon as he was out of sight of his handlers, Ahmal removed the radio receiver from the detonator, headed down a side street, and went home. A few days later, members of his family started turning up dead, and he knew he had to get out of town. His father claimed that he had been killed to redeem the family's honor, and put him on a ship to Tanzania.

Ahmal has since learned that not all non-muslims are uneducated, pig-eating, morally bankrupt cretins, and has become thoroughly disillusioned with his religious upbringing. While he still follows the basic practices, his Islam has become an intensely private thing. He is a mercenary mostly because he was never educated for anything else. And yes, he can build or disarm a basic bomb.

Ahmal was probably the most influential person in keeping the small remainder of the force together during a day of being besieged by Greek anarchist forces. As such, he is provisionally the group's daylight leader.

In 2031, Ahmal is still leading the squad, constantly trying to integrate new recruits to replace frequent casualties. The years and stress have gotten to him, and despite his agelessness, he appears an older, more beaten down man than he did before. He has taken to punishing bad behavior with exceptionally harsh punishment.
