Since the disappearance of the San Francisco Slasher in March of 2007 the number of weird murders declined significantly. Unfortunately, six months later the killings started up again, but unknown to the public and the media these murders bore evidence of a variety of different killers imitating the SF Slasher, the cops dubbed these new killers the Copycats and the name stuck. How this sobriquet leaked to the press is anyone's guess, the Copycats must approve because they have started leaving calling cards identifying them as individuals.
