● -- SONAR
Dice Pool: Perception + Alertness = Difficulty 6 (Passive) / 4 (Active)
Cost: Imbue 1 Divinity (Pasive) / Expend 1 Divinity (Active)
Description: With the passive version of this Power the Avatar of Water
engages a sixth sense that detects minute disturbances in the water around her
and does so in hundreds of yards times the Avatar's permanent Divinity
(100 yards X Permanent Divinity). The advantage of passive sonar is that the
Avatar can sense the approach of an enemy without giving away her position, but
her perceptions are limited in distance while she is passively alert. This form
of perception allows the Avatar a three dimensional awareness of what lies around
her in the water.
The active version of this Power allows the Avatar to emit a high frequency pulse
that reaches out to whatever lies in the Avatar's distant surroundings and bounces
back to give the Avatar a real-time three dimensional image of what is happening
around her, but at the cost of giving away her location to any potential enemies or
predators. The active range for the Avatar's sonar is miles times the Avatar's
permanent divinity (1 mile X Permanent Divinity).
The Avatar's player rolls Perception + Alertness at a variable difficulty depending on
whether they are using their sonar passively (difficulty 6) or actively (difficulty 4).
The degree of success resolves the level of detail garnered as meaningful images by the
Avatar.
