Sobriquet: Nimat
Appearance: Nimat is a olive toned man of middle years. He has several scars, and looks to be a hard character.
Behavior: Nimat was a thief, a leg breaker, and a contract killer in his day. While mostly pleasant, there are cold, dead things at the back of his eyes. He is trying hard to regain his humanity.
History: Iman Bonqua was born to a poor family in Paris. He grew up with only a little schooling in a formal sense. A bright child he learned quickly to read and write. He is also very fast with numbers. At the age of twelve he learned to pick locks. A successful thief, he became a known person among the criminals of Paris. In time he was recruited by the mafia. He did this and that. Eventually he had to kill some men with friends. It seemed the French foreign legion was a good place to go.
Five years later, Iman was with a detachment in the desert rounding up dissidents. They were ambushed, and most of his detachment was killed. Nimat escaped to a small town a few miles away. He was met by a Caucasian man who spoke French. The man took him to his Kasbah and fed Iman, gave him a place to bathe, food to eat. Iman accepted his offer for a place to stay until the Legion could be reached.
The man called himself Gabriel Dunai. He and Iman spent many nights (because the man was never around in the day) talking about philosophy and damnation until all hours of the night. Dunai was the protector of the townspeople, and they provided for all Iman's needs during the day. Dunai taught Iman chess, and the two played often. One night the town was attacked by raiders. Dunai went out with a sword and a spear, none of the raiders made it out alive. Dunai was everywhere at once, moving at a speed Iman would have never believed.
When it was over, the townspeople came and went out of Dunai's chambers, until Dunai came out much refreshed, with a rosy glow to him. Iman thought on this for several nights before daring to ask his host how he could fight like that. Dunai explained that he was a vampire of the Brujah clan. Iman couldn't believe it. Then Dunai showed him, and offered to make Iman his childe. Iman changed his name to Nimat, which means "blessings", because he wanted to do good with his power and right the wrongs of his past. Eventually Nimat returned to Paris.
In Paris he was appalled by the cultural rot of the city, and impact of the Kindred. Nimat set out to stop the evils of the Settites, and put a less corrupt clan in control of Paris. But with the power of Villon, he has been very careful. In time he embraced Ahmed with permission of Villon in order to fight the Nazi movement in the Brujah clan.
Now Nimat is wandering Europe in search of enlightenment, and a way to defeat the Serpents of Paris.
Notes:
It seems this is my character. I thought initially that he came from Paris La Nuit...but he doesn't, or at least I haven't found him there. (Keith 2/17/17 19:05 MST)
