Description: Incubation is an ancient term for sleeping in a consecrated place for the purpose of dreaming oracular dreams. All serious occult sources agree that in the majority of all cases in which the dead are perceived by the living (or Undead), it is through dreams or the near sleep state. In this case, necromantic incubation means sleeping in a tomb, mausoleum or cemetery for the purpose of dreaming about a particular dead person. The process of incubation creates a suggestive state in the consulter, while the ritual creates a sympathetic link with the ghost, allowing the caster and the spirit to share a dream.
Origin: This kind of ritual is ancient and many variants exist.
Ingredients: The caster requires the name of the spirit to be summoned or an image obtained via Psychometry will also suffice. In addition the caster requires an object the wraith possessed in life (it needs not be a fetter, if it is however, lower the difficulty of this ritual by two).
Casting: This ritual must be cast in the last ten minutes before slumber and the caster must continuously chant an invocation in both Greek and the language of the spirit to be contacted.
System: Intelligence + Rituals = 4. Successes equate to the number of dice the necromancer has to manipulate the dream sequence. The effects of the ritual last for a scene.
Reference: The most obvious reference is the rank two of Sepulchre Path “Summon Soul”, this ritual is essentially the same except that it is a dream summoning rather than a classic séance.
