Ipswich

The witch families of Ipswich are a curious lot. The first child of every generation gains mystical abilities and is tutored by the eldest child of the last generation, not necessarily the individual's parent. The relationship can be one of student and teacher, friends, lovers, and even on occasion antagonists. So in fact there are two active scions in each of the witch families. The older of the two usually has a position of respect within the family and the community as a whole, while those new to the power are almost always angst filled, rebellious youths driven by all the familiar drives known to most teens but with one exception, with the power - they can satisfy every whim - at a price.

Of the newly empowered teens, Randall Wenham is the undisputed leader, perhaps this is because he is the captain of the football team with all that must entail. His ever-present sidekick is Samuel Higgins the high-school bad-boy adored by most of the female student body. Cora Collins is the town's social-butterfly and Randall's current love interest, but through charm and beauty she holds the young witches together as a clique. Cora's best-friend is Beatrix Danvers the town freak who has embraced the witch stereotype giving her a social handicap and a mystical advantage all in one go. The groups' wallflower is Warwick Abbot whose cautious approach to his powers makes the others see him as a stick-in-the-mud, but Warwick's commonsense has saved his friends from getting burned mystically and literally on more than one occasion.
