Level 3 Thaumaturgy, based on Spiritual Hermeticism.
This ritual uses a small straw figurine to draw a curse (persistent harmful magical effect) out of the caster.
System: The caster creates a small (about three inch high) figurine out of straw, corn husks, and a bit of his own hair and spit. The figurine must be crafted with an obvious void or flaw. While crafting the effigy, the caster recites a chant designed to confuse the curse (persistent detrimental magical effect), which then flows into the flaw in the figurine. When this happens, the magic of the figurine traps it there for a number of hours equal to the successes on the casting. If the Effigy is cast into a hot fire while it contains a trapped curse, the curse and effigy are both destroyed.
To succeed, the caster must achieve one more success than the caster of the curse, plus one success for each level of the curse above three. It can be used to draw a curse out of another, at the cost of a bit of hair and spit from the intended beneficiary instead of the caster. If the caster knows of multiple curses in effect, this ritual may target any single one of the caster's choice.
