It has been a busy decade since the retaking of London. I have my own Barony settled if not fully under my control. My newest child is progressing nicely and my two elder childer have fallen in line mostly. Both Ares and Bronious have their own cities to look after. Not really as a Prince but with a more marshal bent.
Leeds is a sea of politics I will have to watch, but hopefully I can stay above it and only mess with them as needed.
I really have 3 main goals.
1. Keep my Barony secure and well managed.
2. Keep my research, including start working on something directly connected with our goal
3. Increase my relationship with the Dunsern
I have finished my ritual to change my clothing. It should make it easier to use Transformation on the run as it were. I have gotten far on one of my last Weapon rituals, this should make it so I can fight for an extended period of time at full speed. (without Temporis) Sometimes it's hard to see such an example and not try to emulate it. It makes me consider what kind of weapon he would be with my rituals, but he has wanted to distence himself from that life.
I consider that things are finnally mildly quiet, when the shoe drops....
Three bloodless corpses....around my public haven... might as well hang a sign....
Police call, I miss the first because I am in the library and the second two because I am asleep.
I decide to play innocent concerned citzen, after all I have control of the police and local media. I am the Prince of York.....it's just not that big. I call in, wanting to help the police. They jump all over it and want to bring me down to the station. I request that the interview be held in my residence, denied..... Again, weird but I can influence more when they are here in person so I let them come.
So when they arrive, I get a imspector(read detective) and 4 non-local policemen (read goons). They are very brisk and hostile. Some use of my newest and highest powered precense only made them more polite. They still "had to" take me downtown.... What am I getting into? I give a quick call to Lord Blake, Reeve(sp?) of Kingston upon Hull, and asked him to move to my location so he could provide backup as needed.
It quickly became apperant that I was dealing with some fanatics, they knocked out their own people as soon as they exited the vechile. With the delay as the only reason to suspect anything without even talking to them I found this pretty aggressive. And the situation only got more so, I found to my surprise that the police stations addition was really a center for a government sponsered hunter group. I wanted to get out of this without breaking the Masquerade. In this I failed, althought they did not see me break it....small favor....
I ended up killing 4 of them, while the 3 leaders of this attack got away through a pre-planned escape tunnel I missed. More need for Auspex I guess.
I don't know who sent them or why I was set up....and I may have lost a 100 million + in cash/property and an identity.... all in all a bad night...
