Main Page -x- Level One Rituals -x- Level Two Rituals

Description: Cephalomancy means literally communication or prophesies from the head and is a particularly ancient method of necromantic divination. Historically, cephalomancy was practiced by the Alexandrian Greek magi and Egyptian priests of the Ptolemaic period. The necromancer may ask any question of a head that the original person could have answered.
Origin: This kind of ritual is ancient and many variants exist.
Ingredients: An intact head and a few prayers.
Casting: (Intelligence + Rituals = 4) The necromancer massages the throat of the corpse while commanding the dead for aid in the form of answers and then urgently whispering the question into the corpse’s ear. As long as the corpse has vocal cords it answers.
System: This ritual requires five minutes to cast. The corpse must answer one question for each success the caster gains in his casting. The corpse is required to answer the question with what it would have believed to be the truth, not necessarily the actual truth, just as it knew the truth to be. Should a corpse belong to a wraith, that wraith may be enraged at the desecration of is former body and its secrets.
Reference: There are numerous level one path powers and several level one rituals that are divinatory and provide a similar amount of information.
