Kaitlin's Spell Book
This ritual uses the fact that any caster has a piece of themselves on any ritual/sending they create. What it does, is distell the essence of the caster out of their ritual/sending, and pass that information to the user of Caller ID.
System: The thaumaturge, must spend a day in ritual purification to make sure that she is not influence by anything outside herself. She cannot cast this ritual while she has anyone's rituals other than hers, on herself. At the end of a night of purification, the caster must cast the ritual as she awakes, to make sure she remains pure. For the next lunar month the caster will have the ritual upon them. The number of successes gained will decide if she receives the name of the sender, or if it is to powerful a sending. Successes must be used to first gain the level of the sending. If there is protection on the person true name, it will strip away these success, and they must penetrate the protection first, then the level of the ritual. If there is one success left over Caller ID will inform the its user of the Senders true name. (Note, This has no effect on the sending itself, It works as the sender wishes.)
Example: Kateb Zek casts a lvl 7 sending on Mina (who has caller ID active) Mina scored 7 successes on the ritual. Kateb Zek has a true name protection spell, which he had 3 successes on. Mina first must use 3 of her successes to counter act the true name protection, and then 4 to reach the same level (caller ID is lvl 3 vs a lvl 7) This uses her total number, and she does not have an extra to gather the true name.
Second Example: Geff a fledgling sorcerer wants to get back at Mina for thwarting him in Elysium. He casts a lvl 2 curse at her. She has caller ID, with 7 success upon it. As his ritual is less than hers, she gains a successes making her total at 8. Even if he had some pretty powerful Name protection, Geffs true name would now be hers.
