Introduction
The University Institute in mental health Québec (formerly the Centre hospitalier Robert-Giffard) is a psychiatric hospital in Quebec offering specialized services to adults with mental illness or mental disorders. It is affiliated with the Université Laval.
The hotel was named after Robert Giffard, Beauport founder and pioneer of medicine in New France. It is located on the road to Canardière in the borough of Beauport in Quebec City.
History
- -- 15 September 1845 - Opening of the first psychiatric facility in Quebec, the provisional Beauport Asylum.
