Road of Lilith

Some legends speak of Malakai, the twin sister of Malkav, who shared his curse, but not his control. According to these legends, she was both his mortal sibling, and his partner in the Embrace. Where Malkav was able to utilize his madness, Malakai was not nearly so fortunate. When it became clear that Malakai was unable to control her abilities, Caine ordered her locked away where she could harm neither the children of Caine nor the children of Seth. While Malkav protested, he understood Caine’s decree and stood aside. Some scholars believe that this is the incident that ultimately compelled Malkav to join the other Antediluvians in slaying their sires. With Malakai’s abilities, it proved nearly impossible to hold her. Her madness would eventually erode any prison in which she was locked. But one among the 3rd Generation, Cappadocius, knew of a location deep within the Underworld where Malakai could be kept safely. With Caine’s blessing and the aid of Malkav, Cappadocius took Malakai into the Labyrinth, and in the center of the spiral he imprisoned her for eons to come.

Millenia later, when Cappadocius was diablerized by his childe, a portion of his soul escaped into the Underworld. Desperate for safety, Cappadocius ran to the Labyrinth and visited Malakai’s prison. He had hoped that millenia of solitude would have softened Malakai, and that isolation from the Jyhad would make her a potential ally. He was mistaken.

As soon as Cappadocius arrived, Malakai read his mind, prying forth the secret to her location and escape. She read the way out of the Spiral. Before he could even make his plea for aid, she broke free of her bonds and escaped into the Underworld. From there it was a simple matter to return to the land of the living where she intended to find her brother and seek revenge on Caine.

Malakai has since taught her unique Path to those she has recruited, and to a few she has broken. The Malakaites have found great common ground with the Black Spiral Dancers and the Nephandi.

Systems

Lilin Virtues: Conviction and Instinct

Aura: Intimidation. The Malakaites long association with self-torture infuses her aura and affects attempts to intimidate or convince others of her willingness to resort to pain.

Common Abilities: The ideals of this path demand creativity and an analytical mind. Malakaites also prize acuteness of the five senses: Alertness is favored. Other prized Abilities include Athletics, Empathy, Expression, Crafts, Performance, Academics, medicine, Occult and Science. Though they may claim otherwise, the Lilin tend to welcome converts who have a high Appearance rating.

Torture is an essential element of the path, so adherents are usually skilled in Intimidation and Melee (with specialties in instruments of pain), as well as in Medicine.

Linguistics is also favored, although followers are more interested in dead languages than extant ones.

The vampiric Disciplines are Lilith's gifts to the Children of Caine. These are the powers Caine and his grandchilder in turn used to destroy her garden and exile her. Lilin are expected to hone their powers so that her gifts can be used against Caine and his line for the torture of Malakai and punishment of her followers

Powers such as Animalism, Celerity, Fortitude and Obfuscate are prized, and these are said to be the "purest" of the Mother's Disciplines. There are rumors of a cult of Malakaite worshipers in Greece who are skilled at Necromancy, many have found paths of thaumaturgy.

Tenets of Malakai

• Seek pain. In moments of agony, one's senses are afire and enlightenment is close.
• Be a teacher, lover and bringer of pain and knowledge to those who would follow the Dark Mother's ways. Be the darkness to those who will not.
• As a vampire, the night belongs to the Lilin. Blind mortals are one's victims. Only by bending them in the Spiral and showing them the darkness are they worth anything.
• Confront your fears. Overcome them. Grow stronger. There is no fear on the Spiral, only spinning toward the center.
• Seek out those who would find awareness and draw them into the truths of the Spiral. Pushing the hesitant into the Caul is acceptable
• Nothing is fair in this world. Fairness and sentimentality are for the weak. The Mother rewards the strong.
• Be independent. Be strong. Trust only one's self. Eat the weak, find ways to dance around the strong, the Spiral be your guide.
• Share pain and learning with others on this path, enrich them and make them your tools.
• Wealth, materialism and Power are tools to attract followers to the Spiral. The accouterments of power are requirements of wisdom and study.
• Mortal religion merely encapsulates God's oppression of the Mother. Seek to undo all its rules and teachings feed the entropy of the Spiral.
• God forbids magic and all vampiric Disciplines. they are the dark gifts that cast off the shackles of His petty rules so learn all you can to warp reality and command the Spiral.
• Prepare the way for the Eschaton when heaven, Hell and Earth cease to be, and Oblivion comes to rule. There is the center of the Spiral, where Oblivion grants pain, pleasure, and enlightenment.

8	Not challenging the "false" scriptures of mortal religions or vampire Nodists	You must give others the opportunity to find the path. Those who know and spurn the Spiral must die.
7	Feeling remorse for the suffering or death you bring on others	Pain is a gift, death is transcendence, and pushing other out of the way opens the inner steps of the Spiral.
6	Not participating in a Malakai's ritual	Ritual gives direction to your quest for enlightenment, pulls you more to the center of the Spiral.
5	Showing fear of death or pain	Pain brings opportunity, the chance to spin faster into the Spiral.
4	Not killing when hungry or threatened	You cannot walk the Spiral if you are dead. Only the great may achieve Malakai's wisdom, all others can die.
3	Not learning the teachings of Lilith	The ultimate truth is within your grasp. Through the teachings of Lilith can you find the steps of the second Spiral
2	Not bringing pain and anguish to others, not killing when necessary	Do not deny others the gifts you have been given, do not hesitate to push others out of way to exit the first Spiral
1	Shunning Pain	Pain is Lilith's gift, and will make you strong. Malakai knew great pain, and her power grew exponentially.
