The Ship

The Crew

In 1897 the Demeter had a crew of fifteen between deckhands and officers all were ghouls. The first crew of the Demeter had been with Captain Fitzroy for decades and had mostly been former sailor in Her Majesty's Navy. The disaster of 1897 led to the complete loss of the old crew and the destruction of the ship.

Late in the same year Captain Fitzroy had the ship rebuilt from the bones of the old vessel with several improvements, at the same time Malken went looking for a new crew. This time he ghouled only key members of his crew and regularly cycles his deckhands at each new port to prevent the creation of more ghouls and to disperse potential suspicions of his nocturnal nature.

Hired Hands

There are eight to ten hired deckhands at any given time. Halldor Leifsson vets new crew members and acts as ship's disciplinarian when difficulties arise.
