Dearest Lorraine

Obviously, I don't write a lot of letters and I hope you will forgive my lack of style. It is something all the Artistes seem to have in their genetics. Sadly, except for your teaching, I have very little and right now it seems not nearly enough.

But its time I got to the point.

As you may or may not know, last night I took responsibility for a Beast who calls himself Logan. He has only been one of us for a few months and doesn't know his way around, so to speak.

As you know, my friends and I visited you club last night after a meeting with Esko. As usual I hit the stage and got lost in the music. When we returned to our booth, Logan had a little too much to drink and assaulted a young club-goer. I would like to tell you that I thought through my next move carefully, but there wasn't time. She could have died and as Logan's sponsor it would have been my fault.

I know in way it doesn't matter what my reasoning was, but I didn't want her death on my conscience, so I SAVED her. She is with me now and so is Logan. Her name is Justine and I take full responsibility for what has happened. I intend to show her and Logan how things are supposed to be, but I know that I have wronged you.

I want you to understand that I know just how much trouble I am in, but I beg your forgiveness. I won't return to your club until I have found a way to make everything right between us. I ask only two things of you. Please give me the time to pay you back and if possible, keep this situation between us.

Things in San Francisco aren't how they used to be, but I know the rules are traditions that are older than this city. You know me perhaps best of all, and you know that I value your friendship and advice so very much since my beloved Eve left me so long ago.

In the past you have always cautioned patience in my decision making, please be patient with me now so that I may remain your eternal friend.

-- Your friend and servant, Everett Young
