Economy

The economy of early Frankfurt is driven by the excellent ways to travel here. The roads are well built, allowing for smooth cart and wagon traffic. The river allows for barges and ships to navigate the water ways. Ore is brought here to be worked by the metal smiths, and many tools, weapons, and some armor are sold and transported from here. Outside of the city farming and grazing are highly successful here. Significant trade is done on the river with other towns in both directions. The tithes to the church have allowed for it to become a significant factor in how things are traded, with the church being a de facto bank for the merchants.

Cemeteries

There are two cemeteries here. The most well used is the rectory cemetery around the church. Members of the Catholic church are buried here.

The lesser acknowledged one is nearly a half mile outside of town, where those who can't pay or are out of favor with the Church lay their loved ones to rest. Most folks refer to it as the Holy Grove of Nerthus, though the Church leaders see it as a spawning ground for Satanic activity.

Hospitals

In Frankfurt itself has a Hospitalier house, dedicated to saving the bodies and souls of those living in the city. Five brothers and five sisters work here, caring for the sick. When needed the Holy Mother travels forth to birth babies for the farmers.

To the west of town in an enclosed encampment is the Leprosarium of St. Jude. This encampment is kept closed from the rest of the population, and only the priests and nuns who care for the dying are allowed to travel to and fro from it's palisades. There are nearly a hundred lepers here, with nearly forty brothers and sisters caring for their charges. The camp is funded by the Church and several local lords.
