Sobriquet: Qaa'ed (Captain)

Appearance: Talib Samara is a short man, but thick of body and muscular like an ape. Like many Moors (residents of northwestern Africa) he is fair of skin beneath his silks and furs, but where the sun has touch him he is of a dark copper coloration. He wears a turban of white silk and a undershirt to match. Over that he wears a vest of finely embroidered red velvet trimmed in gold. Around his waist is a well tooled leather belt for his weapons and he often wears a sleeveless coat of violate leather trimmed in fur. Hanging from his weapons belt is a gold amulet that never leaves his person. Dark pantaloons of gray silk adorn the lower half of his body and fine slippers of well tooled gray leather sheath his feet. His scarred face is lightly bearded with hair the color of brass slowly turning white and a handlebar mustache a man in any age would be proud to wear.

Behavior: Captain Samara looks men and women directly in the eye. His bass voice is pitched low and he rarely speaks above conversational tones except when shouting orders to his men on the deck of his ship. In conversation he is curt and direct, not usually a man for causal conversation, he is used to issuing orders and expects to be obeyed. Those who work for him are part of his crew and receive their appointed share of the loot. He is somewhat quicker to punish disobedience than to reward outstanding behavior, but to hear him tell it, men of the sea - especially pirates - require a strong hand. In more social situations he can be a touch more relaxed, although not much, but he is a man of letters and surprisingly well read for this age. He trusts very few and is of a suspicious mind, which is common enough in his line of work for the sea is a harsh mistress.

History: You know too little about Talib Samara for your liking, and few of his men have sailed with him for more than a few years and know no more than you.

Recent Events: Captain Talib has taken on a passenger, an incredibly rare event and houses him in his own state-room, which has never happened and the crew are all abuzz about who this strange passenger could be.

Ship: Rabb al-Tinnin (Lord of the Monsters of the Sea)
