Gertreaux's is a blacks only cat house run by a slender cold man named Basil Gertreaux. Blues and "nigger" music is common here. A half dozen quadroon women keep the men happy. There are a series of small shacks built onto the back of the bar, with cot beds and simple tables. The law comes only for a payoff. Rough beer and harsh whiskey are the norm here, though once in a while Gertreaux will trade for an upscale bottle of wine. Gertreauxs brother Samson works as his bouncer, as his 6'3" frame scares the hell out of most folks. Basil also employs a bartender by the name of Cecil, no one knows his last name, but he makes a good drink, and runs a smooth bar. Samson and Cecil share a room upstairs from the bar. Basil keeps a small suite and office up there also. | Gertreaux's is a blacks only cat house run by a slender cold man named Basil Gertreaux. Blues and "nigger" music is common here.
