Description: The Dresdner Heide, popularly known as the heath, is a large forest area in Dresden. It is the most important recreational area of the city and is used for forestry. With 5,876 acres of the Dresdner Heide to the area the largest city forest in Germany and is protected under nature conservation law. While in the east adjacent predominantly agricultural land, the heath is surrounded by all other directions of districts and towns of Dresden and ranges in the southwest up to the Dresden suburbs.
