Description

Eldritch Icon.jpg

A picture is worth a thousand words. The afore mentioned adage is where this Kiasyd ritual begins - with a picture. The picture can be of anyone, living or dead, or one created purely of imagination, a fictitious image.

But it must be a photograph. The only caveat is that the photo must be sympathetic in nature to the design it must emulate.

The photograph is placed in the center of a location where a spell has been cast. Once the photo is positioned the Kiasyd magician opens his or her wrist and drizzles a quantity of vitae onto the chosen image.

Thereafter the Kiasyd bleeds clockwise around the area in which the unknown spell was cast three times invoking the salt in the blood for its properties of clarification and animation.

Upon the completion of the third turning the Kiasyd magician commands the spell's remaining energies through a mock blood bond to enter the photograph and give it a temporary form of life.

If successful the photograph becomes animate and sentient to a very limited degree. The resulting enchanted object is a Eldritch Icon. The icon's personality and knowledge come from the psychic energy unleashed by the unknown spell and the occult wisdom used by the caster to create the effect.

The icon serves as a animate companion who for the short duration of a night may be questioned on the nature of the spell and the one who cast it. The entirety of the icon's knowledge is drawn from the spell and the spell caster.

While the Eldritch Icon is civil and deferencial, it possesses a shred of the original caster's personality and will display personality traits unique to that individual.

While sentient magical photos are all well and good, it can be unnerving for others to enter a room and observe a Kiasyd engaging in full conversation with a pbotograph, this is because only the Kiasyd magician sees and hears the icon's magical nature.

System

The player of the Kiasyd magician must expend three points of blood and roll Manipulation + Occult at a difficulty of five (5). Each success preserves another portion of the unknown spell and giving the icon a greater level of intelligence and skill in communication. Five successes would render a highly intelligence icon with a full recollection of the unknown spell.
