This is a mostly Arabic hospital. This is a Coptic learning hospital known for it's excellent care of patients. This hospital has three wings, and three stories. The building was built in 1885, there is a basement and sub-basement. Endowments from Mahmoud Ali Beddi Pasha allowed the hospital to run gas lines, and in the central hospital upgrade to electric lights. There are specialties here for contagious disease as understood in the time. The upper two floors on the west wing are insane asylums. The middle wing is trauma and surgery.
