Description: With its indie/electro tunes and low-price drink offers, this small, informal bar largely caters for a student crowd. The comfy sofas and some reasonably adroit service help to ensure a steady stream of customers from nearby Glasgow University, day or night. As Radio is tiny, seats are often at a premium, particularly on Wednesdays when all drinks are only a quid. By comparison, the cost of the burgers (beef or vegetarian) and wraps (filled with tuna, chilli or chicken) on an admittedly predictable menu might seem high initially - that is until the daily half-price offers kick in. The super-sized, onion and pepper-spiked veggie burger, which is served in a starchy white bun, is undoubtedly a knife and fork job. The accompanying hand-cut chips have their skins intact, producing a crispy, golden treat. Desserts are not listed on any menu, but a word with staff proves enlightening. They exist: the Radio crème brûlée, for example, features a milk chocolate fondant topped with a burnt sugar crust.
