The Cult of Mithras is operating well after the turn of the 1900's. Mithras is using the upper branches of the cult to create and feed on vampires to feed his growing thirst. The lower echelons are unaware, though they all look forward to being "promoted" to special clergy on assignment by their God.

There are fifty to seventy five paritioners that come on different days of the week for services. Three times a year a paritioner is chosen to go on special assignment outside of the city. The clergy hypes this up, getting the flock excited to be missionaries to the faith across the world. Each one of these "missionaries" is embraced and fed to Mithras. Before they are embraced the cult clothes them, makes sure their debts are paid, and that family is not afraid for them.
